Only One Of Me - a year on

This time last year I was busy plotting a fairly madcap project with my friend Lisa Wells. We'd only just met, introduced by a friend who told me Lisa was keen on writing a children's book. 

To cut a long story short (and you can read the long story here), we managed to put together a team of amazingly generous, talented and brave people to traditionally publish ONLY ONE OF ME in just a few short months - in two versions, mum and dad. The project was crowdfunded and it only happened at all because of the kindness of family, friends and complete strangers.

It still sounds impossible, and looking back it was all a bit wing-and-a-prayer. But when Lisa puts her mind to something she's very good at inspiring others and getting it done. 

​We continue to receive the most incredibly moving messages from people like Vered, who have found comfort in reading ONLY ONE OF ME. We're all so glad to have created a book that can help a little - although it goes without saying that we wish there were never any need for it in the first place.

Since her own diagnosis in December 2017, she's done her utmost to merrily stick two fingers up to her illness and get on with LIVING. She's made it her mission to bring a little hope, love and joy to all - especially her two little girls, Ava and Saffia and her husband, Dan.

​​​Lisa's diagnosis and ongoing treatment is not something she likes to dwell on - so I won't either. The brief update: she's still very much with us and making waves with Lisa's Army and many other projects, all of which radiate her trademark warmth, positivity and cracking sense of humour.
